‘Mad’ Marc Eckley and John ‘Popeye’ Harris recently attended the Annual Bridgend Local Heroes Award Ceremony to officially announce our partnership with Nation Radio and Bridge FM for our Kilimanjaro Challenge 2013. The event, hosted by Bridge FM and held at the Best Western Heronston Hotel, celebrates normal people who have done extraordinary things in the local community with awards such as Mum of the year, outstanding contribution to sport and outstanding young achieve.
As we recently announced, Nation and Bridge FM Presenter Lee Jukes is the seventh member of our Charity Champions team who are tackling the African mountain in October. Lee ‘Jukesy’ Jukes has a history of charity work and has raised close to £30,000 in his previous efforts and is undertaking the Cardiff half-marathon just days before he joins our team on his toughest charity challenge yet. You can tune in to Bridge FM on 106.3 and catch-up with Lee’s personal journey in the next few weeks and he’ll be broadcasting live daily during our Kilimanjaro trek. We also have plans for Lee to interview Marc and John in the studio as well as one lucky Dreams and Wishes family to talk about the charity and how it has helped them.
